‘Friendly’ was the first thing which came to my mind when I met Miss Chew as my A-level Physics teacher for the first time in Sunway College (in fact the friendliest teacher I’ve met throughout my study years). Her teaching style was very lively and I started to anticipate her class despite my lack of interest in Physics. She has a great passion in her job and it is her passion which kept me going. Time just flew by in her class! She would work out of hours to write down the solution of every question and upload them to the shared folder. She earned my admiration as there were thousands of questions in total! Miss Chew understood that the subject wasn’t easy, so she encouraged us to come early before class or stay back after class to solve our questions. It’s common to see a group of students surrounding her as she shared her ways to tackle the questions and sometimes, she would share with us interesting stories of her daily life. She is not only my ‘teacher’, but also my ‘friend’. After studying for one semester at Sunway, I was granted a full scholarship to study at another college. It’s sad but goodbyes had to be done. I was taken aback when she invited me to join the ‘Physics folder’ and still welcomed me to ask her Physics questions although I was no longer a student of hers. I am very blessed to have met great teachers in my life (Miss Chew is definitely one of them), who have been the stepping stone for my goal to get into a medical school in the UK. I am currently studying medicine in The University of Sheffield, UK.
